Trip Overview
What you can expect
From Nairobi to Nanyuki, this journey will immerse you in the life and landscapes of Kenya, providing a balanced mix of cultural engagement and wildlife conservation.
Education and conservation
Work alongside community activist Binti Mwangaza and the Kenya Red Cross to expand access to education, gaining a deep understanding of the challenges young women face in rural areas and the inspiring solutions breaking down reproductive health taboos.
Next, head to the Soysambu Conservancy to contribute to essential biodiversity protection. You’ll track and monitor Nubian Giraffes, Colobus Monkeys, and the local lion population on game drives; work alongside rangers on anti-poaching desnaring initiatives; and restore degraded habitats. You will also build eco-stoves for local families, seeing firsthand how balancing community development reduces pressure on vulnerable wildlife.
Maasai traditions and cultural exchange
Immerse yourself in Kenyan life through powerful cultural connections. Spend an unforgettable day with the nomadic Maasai, stepping into their daily life by helping herd livestock, fetch water, and build traditional bomas.
Learn conversational Swahili and join Kenyan peers at a local high school for a workshop on cross-cultural collaboration, discussing the role of youth as global citizens. You’ll also visit a coffee plantation to work alongside local farmers, discovering how traditional livelihoods navigate the complex global market before unwinding over a traditional Kenyan barbecue filled with music and storytelling.
Safari and coffee plantation tour
Discover Kenya’s wild side as you embark on jeep safaris to witness more of the country’s biodiversity. Explore the vast Ol Pejeta Conservancy on game drives to spot the Big Five and visit the sanctuary’s chimpanzee rehabilitation centre.
You will then travel to the globally recognised Mt Kenya Conservancy, a critical stronghold for the endangered Mountain Bongo antelope. Here, you’ll speak with conservation experts about the breeding programmes saving this species from extinction, learning exactly how multi-agency partnerships work together to manage and protect these vital wilderness areas.
