Teaching and community

You’ll also work alongside local educators and community staff in a classroom setting to support children’s development. You’ll engage with local traditions, from language lessons and traditional water puppet shows to craft workshops and cooking classes. Your journey includes exploring the natural beauty of Ha Long Bay on an overnight cruise and discovering the scenic valley of Mai Chau, where you will experience the unique traditions of the ‘Thai’ ethnic minority communities and explore local markets.
Why choose Vietnam for your Community Development programme?
Vietnam offers an environment where deep-rooted traditions, modern energy, and incredible natural landscapes blend, making it the perfect classroom to learn by doing. Students are encouraged to step outside of their comfort zone, helping them make a real, tangible impact through community-led initiatives and genuine cultural exchange.
By supporting community and educational initiatives, they will develop leadership, communication, and teamwork skills as they collaborate with local educators and children. The hands-on nature of classroom support and environmental work makes learning practical, visible, and rewarding.
Immersion in Vietnamese culture adds another powerful dimension to the experience. By living and working within the community, students gain insight into the country’s culture, traditions, and everyday life. These cross-cultural interactions foster independence, resilience, and confidence while encouraging a deeper understanding of global perspectives, creating personal growth alongside real community impact.
